Langley Grammar School

Ofsted Reports

Langley Grammar School was previously inspected in 2007 and judged to be outstanding in all categories against the framework at the time. As such it was exempt from routine inspection for the next 14 years until the exemption was removed.

In that time Ofsted has revised its inspection framework several times, each one representing a raising of the expected educational standards in schools. The most recent framework, introduced in late 2019 shortly before the pandemic struck, introduced a new emphasis on the quality of the curriculum, students’ personal development and staff wellbeing.

Following the visit from a team of Ofsted inspectors in late November 2021, we are delighted that that school has once again been judged to be OUTSTANDING – and outstanding in all five judgement areas, including our Sixth Form provision.

The report commends the knowledge and skill of our teaching staff and the support they provide to students, and the hard work and dedication of our whole staff team both in and outside the classroom is rightly acknowledged.

Previous inspection

The school previously inspected by Ofsted in March 2007, and was found to be outstanding in all categories. The inspectors particularly praised the school’s promotion of equality and concern for the individual student. To read the full inspection report, please follow the link below.

Following this outstanding judgement, the school was exempt from routine inspection until the Department for Education removed this exemption in 2020.  However, the progress and academic outcomes of students in all outstanding schools were closely monitored each year.
