Junior House Music
On Monday 19th December, years 7 to 9 participated in our annual Junior House Music competition. Each house performed an ensemble, a composition and a mix of solo acts, and culminated with a house song involving almost every student in each house.
Below is Sankeerat Sidhu (8V) account of the event.
Junior House Music was held for all KS3 pupils, and encouraged students to get involved and perform, even if doing so was outside of their comfort zone. The event was a positive and festive occasion, with many remarking on the vibrant and supportive atmosphere. There was a lot of talent on display and the standard was very high. It was great to see certain students develop their confidence when performing to an audience. All participants had a great time and the enjoyed the humourous introductions to each act.
All the houses performed extremely well, which reflected the hours of practise that had taken place in the run up to the event by all the performers. The judges had a very hard decision to make; the results were tight with only 4 points between last and first place. However there had to be a winner.
The order of the places are below:
2nd S and H
Thank you to the music teachers who organised the event, which represented a fun way to finish off the term.
