Langley Grammar School Students Perform with Slough Youth Orchestra at the Reading Hexagon. On Monday 22nd June, Langley Grammar School students performed with Slough Youth Orchestra and the Slough combined choir at the Reading Hexagon as part of a large-scale concert involving over 40 schools from across Slough, conducted by our very own Mr Batsman. The event brought together a combined choir of more than 200 pupils, alongside the orchestra, creating a powerful celebration of music across the borough. The orchestra performed a varied programme, including The Planets by Gustav Holst, Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and an exciting mash-up of Oh When the Saints and Hallelujah Chorus. A significant number of students in the orchestra were from Langley Grammar School, which was wonderful to see and reflects the strength of music across the school. Our students performed with real confidence, focus and professionalism throughout the event. Many audience members and staff commented on the high standard of their playing and singing, both in the orchestra and as part of the combined choir. This concert was a fantastic example of the power of music to bring young people together. It also demonstrated exactly why Langley Grammar School is proud to be a Lead School for Music in Slough, supporting high-quality musical opportunities and helping students to develop confidence, teamwork and a lifelong appreciation of music. We are incredibly proud of all the students involved, and thank you to all the staff who supported throughout the project, including Mr Batsman, Mr Wilkinson, Ms Kenner, Ms Douthit and all the staff from Slough Music Service. Look out for future Slough Youth Orchestra Concerts in the very near future. #lgsconfident
