Teacher of Economics - September 2022
  

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher of Economics to join a thriving department.  The successful candidate work with the Subject Leader to teach A-Level Economics to both Year 12 and 13 students.  Candidates should have a track record of successful Sixth Form teaching and should have the academic background and knowledge to teach Economics to highly motivated and aspirational students.  The ability to teach Psychology or Sociology at A Level and/or Business Studies to A Level or GCSE would be advantageous.

 

Langley Grammar School is a co-educational 11-18 selective school with academy status, located within easy reach of Langley station and the M4.  We have approximately 1240 students, over 330 of whom are in the Sixth Form.  The school is heavily over-subscribed and draws students from a wide geographical area and range of backgrounds. Alongside promoting excellent academic outcomes, our school ethos supports students to become confident and well rounded, independent and creative, responsible and caring. Our students are capable, hardworking and a delight to teach.  We are a National Teaching School with a record of nationally recognised innovative practice, and an Apple Distinguished School in recognition of our leading-edge use of technology for learning. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of Mathematics to join a highly successful Mathematics department in our outstanding selective school.  Langley Grammar school has an excellent record for student outcomes in mathematics and the subject is very popular subject among our students.

 

The successful applicant will teach Mathematics in all key stages; a significant number of students study Mathematics in the Sixth Form and a strong academic background and ability to teach Mathematics to A-level is therefore essential.  The potential to teach A-Level Further Mathematics will also be an advantage.  We will consider applications for full time or substantial part time (at least 0.6 FTE); applications from both suitability qualified NQTs and more experienced teachers are welcome.

Teacher of Business Studies  - January 2022
  

The successful candidate would be expected to teach Business Studies to GCSE. We also offer the subject in the Sixth Form, so the successful candidate will need to well qualified and be confident in teaching A Level to our academically able students. The ability to teach a second subject in the humanities would be advantageous, particularly Economics. The post would suit an excellent classroom practitioner at any stage of their career, and applications from NQTs are welcome.

Cover Supervisor - January 2022
  

Langley Grammar School is an outstanding school and we are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team of Cover Supervisors providing classroom management of students in the absence of a teacher.

 

Reporting to the Cover Administrator, you will be required to cover classes, creating an orderly and purposeful environment where students can complete the work set.  In addition, when not required for cover you will have administration responsibilities supporting other areas across the school.

 

The role will require you to be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.  Experience of working with young people in a school environment would be useful but not essential.  You will have well developed administrative and IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

The role involves supervision of students in the dining Hall, the outside areas and other school buildings during the lunch break for approximately 1.5 hours per day term time only.

Lunchtime Administrator - January 2022
  

Langley Grammar School is an outstanding school and we are seeking an enthusiastic individual to lead our lunchtime team.

 

This role involves the administration and planning of daily cover for the lunch time supervisory team.   Capturing all absent staff together with the changes to the school day/timetable and adapting the rota on a daily basis.  As well as supervising the lunch time team, you will be working as part of the team securing the safety and welfare of pupils during the lunchtimes and supervising pupils in the playground and other school areas.
