Students may begin the Bronze Award when they are 14 years old. The opportunity to do the Bronze Award is offered to students as the begin Year 9 and will be led by Mr Podbury and his team.
The Bronze Award programme has 4 sections - Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. Participants must do a minimum of 3 months activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections. They must also plan, train for and complete a 2 day (1 night) Expedition.
Participants also have to spend an additional three months on one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections. It is advisable for students to decide which section they want to do for longer at the beginning. Knowing how much time you will spend on an activity will help you choose the right activity and set appropriate goals for each section.
