Governor vacancies

Parent Governor Election January 2023

Nominations are invited to stand as Parent Governor of Langley Grammar School.

The governing board, with the headteacher, has overall responsibility for the running of the school.  Governing boards have three core strategic functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding the leadership team to account for the educational performance of the school and its students, and the performance management of staff;
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

No particular qualifications are needed to be a governor; the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the governing board’s work.

Full details can be found in the letter from the Headteacher sent to parents inviting nominations and the Information and nomination form (see below). Please note, deadline for return of nomination forms is 3.00pm, Friday 20 January 2023.

If you have any queries, or would like to discuss this in more detail, please contact Louise Simmonds, Clerk to Governors via email to louisesimmonds@lgs.slough.sch.uk.
