Governor vacancies

Appointment of Community Governors – Summer 2022

The Governors of Langley Grammar School are seeking to recruit new community governors from the local and surrounding communities to join the school’s governing board.  We are particularly looking for new governors with local community or business links and/or those with a finance/accountancy, human resources, or facilities management background.  We would also welcome applications from any individuals who feel they have relevant skills they can offer and enthusiasm to contribute to the Governing Board.

Langley Grammar School is a selective co-educational school with over 1,250 students including 320 in the Sixth Form.  The school has a reputation and track record for academic success and was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in January 2022. It has also recently completed a major re-building programme and has many new teaching and learning facilities.

Governors volunteer their experience and skills for the benefit of the school and the communities it serves.  They work to shape the school’s character, strategic leadership and vision for its future development.  This is a voluntary role and governors do not receive payment.  Community governors are appointed to the Governing Board after a nomination and interview process.

Please further information about the school and the role of the Governing Board may be found on the school website.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a governor of Langley Grammar School please contact Mrs Louise Simmonds, Clerk to the Governors, by email to louisesimmonds@lgs.slough.sch.uk.
