We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Subject Leader for Mathematics who can lead an experienced and committed subject team in a strong academic environment, where mathematics is highly valued.  The vacancy has arisen following the retirement of the previous post holder. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced and skilled classroom practitioner with a track record of innovation and securing excellent outcomes. We welcome applicants from current heads of department, looking for a fresh challenge or colleagues with some experience of curriculum leadership, for example as a second in department who are looking for the next step in their career. The successful applicant will teach mathematics to all key stages. A significant number of students study mathematics in the Sixth Form and a strong academic background and the ability to teach A-Level Further Mathematics is essential.  Langley Grammar School has an excellent record for student outcomes in mathematics and the subject is a very popular subject amongst our students. We can offer an exceptional working environment where staff, as well as students, thrive.

Langley Grammar School is a co-educational 11-18 selective school with academy status, located within easy reach of Langley station and the M4.  We have approximately 1280 students, over 370 of whom are in the Sixth Form.  The school is heavily over-subscribed and draws students from a wide geographical area and range of backgrounds. Alongside promoting excellent academic outcomes, our school ethos supports students to become confident and well-rounded, independent and creative, responsible and caring. Our students are capable, hardworking, and a delight to teach.  We are a National Teaching School with a record of nationally recognised innovative practice and an Apple Distinguished School in recognition of our leading-edge use of technology for learning. In recent years major building programmes have included the construction of excellent sports facilities, a distinctive Sixth Form Centre and new classrooms, workshops, laboratories, ICT suites, and communal areas. We are seeking a skilled, innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Product Design, able to teach to A Level.  The post would suit an excellent classroom practitioner at any stage of their career and applications from ECTs or experienced teachers are welcome.  The Design Technology curriculum comprises of three distinct disciplines, with Textiles, and Food and Nutrition also taught alongside Product Design. The ability to teach one of these other technology subjects to key stage 3 would therefore be advantageous. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join a highly successful Science team in our outstanding selective school.  Due to flexibility in our staffing, we are pleased to be able to offer this vacancy for candidates who specialise in biology, chemistry or physics.

The successful candidate would be expected to teach general Science in Years 7-8 and biology, physics or chemistry at GCSE according to his or her subject specialism.  Science department staff sometimes teach more than one science subject and the ability to teach a second science subject to GCSE level may therefore be advantageous. The sciences are a popular choice for students in the Sixth Form and the opportunity to teach A Level is available for a suitably qualified and/or experienced candidate.  Applications from ECTs about to begin, or who are part way through their statutory induction period are welcome.
