NJC Scale 2 - 3, Points 3 – 6 - FTE: £25,066 - £26,222 

Actual Salary: £17,742 - £18,560


We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking, and flexible Food Technology & Textiles Assistant to join our well-resourced Design and Technology department. You will report to the Subject Leader for Design and Technology, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing materials and equipment to support teaching and learning activities
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, including the cleaning and upkeep of equipment
  • Monitoring and replenishing stocks of ingredients, tools, and materials
  • Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons, as required
  • Carrying out routine administrative tasks, including the use of standard PC software

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. You will demonstrate strong practical and problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal abilities. A willingness to learn is essential, and appropriate training will be provided.

Langley Grammar School is a co-educational 11–18 selective school with academy status, located within easy reach of Langley station and the M4. We have approximately 1,280 students, of whom more than 370 are in the Sixth Form. The school is heavily over-subscribed and draws students from a wide geographical area and a range of backgrounds. Alongside promoting excellent academic outcomes, our school ethos supports students to become confident and well-rounded, independent and creative, responsible and caring. Our students are capable, hardworking, and a delight to teach.

We are a National Teaching School with a record of nationally recognised innovative practice, and an Apple Distinguished School in recognition of our leading-edge use of technology for learning. In recent years, major building programmes have included excellent sports facilities, a distinctive Sixth Form Centre, and new classrooms, workshops, laboratories, ICT suites, and communal areas. The school was last inspected in 2021 by Ofsted and was graded Outstanding in all categories.
