The year 12 Geography fieldwork visit to Northern Ireland was definitely one to remember. The students coped well with the early mornings and ice cold weather while conducting their fieldwork investigations. They also had a great time doing a range of activities and meeting interesting people throughout the week.
On Thursday 11th January, around 40 year 9 students took part in a chocolate workshop, organised by our Design and Technology department. It was a very popular and enjoyable event, not least because the students could take home and eat their chocolate creations!
On the 16th November, after months of preparation, the A-level drama students went on a trip to Henley to perform ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
At the end of term, just before we broke up for Christmas we had a “Celebration Event” where we were able to celebrate the amazing achievements of our young people whom had achieved an award for DofE.
Langley Grammar School has been named as one of the top 100 STEM schools in the country by the Your Life campaign.
Students from the Years 7-9 Robotics Club took part in the First Lego League regional finals at the Winchester Science Centre on 14 December and successfully secured a place in the national finals.
A Sixth Form student from Langley Grammar School has successfully earned a place in the second round of Oxford University's annual Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. The competition, organised in school by the ICT & Computing department is aimed at raising awareness of Computer Science in a fun rewarding way.

On Friday 15th December, years 7-9 participated in house music. The competition was of a high standard and enjoyed by staff and students alike. The audience were treated to a eclectic mix of wonderful performances from our talented students in the lower school.
On Wednesday 13th December 2017, Year 7 went to a Pantomime trip at the Wycombe Swan Theatre in High Wycombe. This being our first trip at LGS, everyone buzzed with excitement on the day.

On December 11th economic students from year 13 attended the ‘2017 A Level Economics Student Conference’ held at the Emmanuel Centre, Central London.
On Thursday 30th November, the annual event of Senior House Drama took place. Once again, it was a very competitive and fun event where the upper school were able to showcase their talent.
On Thursday, 30 November, four students from years 7 and 8 went to the Oxfordshire/ Berkshire regional heat of the Kids’ Literature Quiz 2017. They were selected out of all year 7 and 8 students due to their knowledge of books and really enjoyed participating in this world renowned annual literature event.
