On Wednesday 15th November, students in Year 8 were privileged to have a visit from trainers from Talk the Talk, an educational charity who deliver oracy workshops to students all over the country. Everyone involved had an enjoyable time and were able to build their confidence and develop their skills in public speaking.
Year 13 spent the recent whole school focus day learning about the links between chemistry and art, learning about the chemistry of paint and its application.
Year 11 students raised money for children in need through many exciting activities, on Friday 17 November.
On November 15th, trainers from St. John Ambulance visited our school to provide Duke of Edinburgh participants with first aid training.
On Wednesday 15th November the whole of year 12 participated in a focus day activity which was about the UN deciding which countries should receive its funding.
On the 7th November and 15th November, Year 9 students visited a previous RAF airbase in Duxford where a collection of planes, tanks and weapons that were used in different wars are exhibited.
Can you really make a rocket car out of foam? Well, surprisingly you can. And that's what Year 7 did on their first ever Langley Grammar School Focus Day.
Year 12 Physics students recently enjoyed a stimulating day in London at the 'Physics in Action' conference. The day was an opportunity to develop a broader understanding of the subject and gain a taste of some of the latest academic research.
On Tuesday 7th November Year 9 students visited the Olympic Park in Stratford and Canary Wharf to conduct geographical fieldwork on urban regeneration. Throughout the trip, they had to use a range of techniques to investigate each location.
As part of our goal to help students get the life skills they need, the school organised first aid training for students in year 9 called, 'Restart a Heart'.
On Thursday 9th November, three classes from year 8 went on a trip to The London Dungeons. It was thoroughly enjoyable and provided an excellent insight into the gory history of London and provided students with a wider context to their studies of gothic literature.
The afternoon of Friday 20 October proved to be thoroughly entertaining as the Year 7’s annual concert was held.
