On 17 October 2017, an excited group of Langley Grammar students departed on a journey to Paris, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The visit was intended to help students learn about what Paris was like while putting their language skills to the test.
On the 28 September, the NHS Slough Children’s Asthma Service visited Langley Grammar School to provide information and advice to students who suffer from asthma, with the aim of improving their health by equipping them to better manage their condition.
On Wednesday 11 October the Berkshire Book Award was launched at Langley Grammar School. Berkshire Librarians organise this award but the books, nominated and voted for, are chosen by school students in Years 7 to 9.
Sixth Form Charity week was once again a success, with money raised through a range of activities which all the students across the school could enjoy. Unlike previous years, the money raised went to the charity supported by each Sixth Form House, which made it all the more eventful!
On 29th September the Year 11 Geographers visited the New Forest to learn more about the distinctive landscape of the National Park. The trip also incorporated an study of coastal processes and the challenges of managing erosion and mass movement along the Hampshire coastline.
A once in a lifetime experience, the Sixth Form summer expedition to Botswana consisted of trekking, project work and a little rest and relaxation.
On the 22nd September students in year 9 went to the Lego Mindstorm Challenge which took place at Mars' headquarters in Slough.
On Tuesday 19th September, Langley Grammar School held its annual Open Evening for prospective students and their families. Many current students helped on the night acting as guides and supporting the work in departments.
Year 11 got a taste of the world of work with a Mock Interview Day on the 22nd September, hosted by Learning to Work.
Students recently enjoyed a range of activities to mark Roald Dahl day in the library. Mrs Shine, the librarian explains more below.
The recent tragic fire at Grenfell Tower left everyone in a state of shock and disbelief. Naman Soni in 10H felt inspired to help the real heroes - the fireman who attended the incident.
