LGS win Magistrates Court Mock Trial
The new teaching block opened for student use on Wednesday 26th February following an intensive period of packing and moving over an extended half term break.
The first of 1000 packing crates......
That's how many crates it takes to pack up half a school....!
Staff are working hard during our school closure days to pack up the Science, Art, Computing and Design Technology departments for their move into the new teaching block.
So, only another 900 crates to go......
And that was your last lesson in the 1956 building......
During the Autumn term we held Presentation Evenings for our former Year 11 and Year 13 students, at which examination certificates and a range of other Awards were presented.
Year 11 students at Langley Grammar School have gained another excellent set of GCSE results.
Langley Grammar students have once again achieved excellent A Level results. Across the country as the proportion of A and A* grades awarded fell to their lowest level since 2007, the students at Langley Grammar bucked the national trend and managed to achieve a higher proportion of the top grades than last year, maintaining the school's high standards and the reputation of its excellent Sixth Form.
On Monday 8th July the Year 7, 8 and 9 cricket teams competed in the Slough Schools Cricket Finals held at Eton College. The day was brilliantly organised and all three games were all against Herschel Grammar School.
On the 5th July the year 12 students had the second instalment of the passport for life programme. It was a busy day full of various plenary talks and subject specific seminar sessions.
The Year 12 biology fieldtrip visited Flatford Mill, a field-studies centre in Suffolk.
On Wednesday 12th June, 40 students from Year 8 went to Cologne; the largest city of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Cologne has many fascinating landmarks, including, Marksburg Castle, Cologne Cathedral, Phantasialand and many more.
