Year 8 students recently visited the Queen Elizabeth Park in east London to investigate different flood management techniques, linking to what they had learn in their Geography lessons.

Year 8 students recently visited the Queen Elizabeth Park in east London to investigate different flood management techniques, linking to what they had learn in their Geography lessons.
On Friday 15 March students from year 10, 11 & 12 were given the opportunity to attend the ‘What’s Next!?’ fair which, comprised of an assemblage of universities and apprenticeship schemes, informing them about the possible routes we could take after Sixth Form.
On the 8th March 2019, students from year 11 and year 12 visited Oxford University for a Study Day run by Academy Conferences. Students from several other schools attended and benefitted from hearing range of talks covering many ideas that we would not normally cover in school.
On Saturday 9th March, a group of 12 students from Year 8 went to the Crown Court in Reading to participate in the Magistrates Mock Trial Competition.
LGS recently celebrated world book day and combined this with a visit for year 7 from a well known author.
On Thursday 28th February, Year 10 were given a smart learning session on how to revise strategically and effectively in order to remember content, long-term.
On Friday 15th February, it was that time of the year for musicians of all abilities and standards to showcase their talent to years 10-13. Senior House Music, as always, did not fail to entertain - with such a wide variety of acts; it was a really exciting affair.
Our Year 12 Geography class recently took a trip to Northern Ireland to study the human and physical factors that shape the area.
Students from Langley Grammar School travelled to Oxford to gain a valuable insight into university life.
On the Friday 25 January the students of Year 12 were given the opportunity to meet professionals from a wide variety of careers, some of which were highly specialised and unique, and others which gave us a broader view of a certain sectors.
Recently 25 of our year 8 girls formed teams and entered the 2019 Cyberfirst competition run by GCHQ, the UK intelligence service. Mr Oakley who organised this for LGS students explains more below.
On Wednesday 16th January the students in year 11 got a taste of life in the Sixth Form, sampling different A Level subjects and finding out about the wide range of opportunities the Sixth Form provides.
